LOCAL GOVERNMENT ELECTION - 2008

The 2008 Local Government election is without doubt the most important council election for decades as a result of the State Government's decision to compulsory force the amalgamation of Queensland's 150 Councils into just 76 without public consultation or Referendum of the Queensland people.

The redistribution of individual Council boundaries will cause thousands, potentially tens of thousands, of ratepayers who are unaware of their new Council and/or Division, will see their vote declared 'informal'.

To eliminate the possibility of your vote being wasted, simply click onto the following LINK where you will be directed to the Electoral Commission Queensland’s web site so as you can check that you are, in fact, still a registered voter and, which Regional Council and Division you currently reside.
